Gyrokinesis is a movement method that was created by ballet dancer Juliu Horvath in the 1980’s to cope with injuries from dancing. Therefore the focus is about moving in circular and spiralling movements to avoid compression in the joints, which is very accessible to movers of all levels. This method is influenced by a range of practices like qi gong, tai chi, yoga, swimming, and dance to fully enhance our mind/body connection. Classes begin sitting on a stool and then progress on the floor and standing.
